Humble beginnings
We started out as opal collectors who simply loved opals. Step by step, year by year, we amassed extremely large collections of Australian and Ethiopian opals. We have also explanded into cutting and faceting rough opals.
Our Story
We just love opals, their artistry and beauty. And we love that they tell a different story every time you look at them. Diamonds are more valuable if they are more ‘perfect,’ but opals are the opposite of that. Opals are instead more valuable if they are more changeable. You can never capture or pin down a fine opal. Every change in light or angle reveals a different stone. That’s why the only way you can even begin to understand an opal is with a video, and even a video pales to holding it in your hand.

Starting in 2019, we have enabled our friends worldwide to buy a part of our personal opal collections for very reasonable prices. We decided to continue that online in the form of this website, where we call our friends ‘members’.
Our team of collectors consists of five experts who are each skilled in different parts of the trade (gemologist, cutter, faceter, collector, buyer).
